Danièle Waldmann-Diederich heads the Institute of Concrete Structures at TU Darmstadt, which is integrated into the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Research focuses on structural analysis as well as the sustainable and economical use of resources of all kinds, with a particular focus on intelligent buildings and structures, demountable constructions and circular economy. The overarching goal is to ensure knowledge transfer to society for the technological needs of industrial and public stakeholders.

- since 2022: Ord. professor and head of the Institute for Solid Structures at TU Darmstadt.
- 2020–22: Ord. Professor of Concrete and Composite Structures at the University of Luxembourg.
- 2003–19: Associate Professor of Concrete and Composite Structures at the University of Luxembourg.
- 2000–03: Research and Development Engineer at Eurobeton S.A. in Luxembourg in the fields of structural engineering and concrete technology.
- 2000: Doctorate in engineering (Dr.-Ing.) at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern (subject of the dissertation: “Shear bearing behavior of point-supported slab bridges”).
- 1989–96: Studies of civil engineering at the TU Kaiserslautern.
