The DFG Priority Program 2255 “Cultural Heritage Construction” represents an attempt, not yet undertaken in this form, to bring together disciplines that have previously worked largely isolated from one another for joint research tasks.
The main aim is to create a solid and sustainable basis for the networking of these disciplines beyond the scope of the program.
A coordination team based at the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg is responsible for managing this network, which is anchored at 19 different research institutions in Germany and Austria and involves around 70 participants.
One of its central tasks is the conception of joint events of the entire research network. Among other things, it is responsible for the preparation of the annual meetings of SPP 2255 with the associated think tank as well as for the implementation of strategy and method laboratories (SuMupLABs), in which the naturally highly focused work in the individual subprojects is enriched by transdisciplinary intellectual impulses.
In addition to the internal transfer of knowledge, the coordination team also ensures that the overarching goals and contents of SPP 2255 are appropriately communicated to the scientific community as well as to a generally interested public.
