The main aim is to create a solid and sustainable basis for the networking of these disciplines beyond the scope of the program.
A coordination team based at the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg is responsible for managing this network, which is anchored at 19 different research institutions in Germany and Austria and involves around 70 participants.
In addition to the internal transfer of knowledge, the coordination team also ensures that the overarching goals and contents of SPP 2255 are appropriately communicated to the scientific community as well as to a generally interested public.

Kurzbiographie
Werner Lorenz, who was appointed honorary professor at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg upon his retirement in October 2018, has been researching and publishing on the history of structural engineering for more than 30 years. As a civil engineer, he is involved in his own projects as well as through expert interventions for an appropriate handling of historical buildings and supporting structures.
