Exhibition “Cultural heritage construction – impressions and finds”

Exhibition on the work of the SPP 2255
October 07 – November 10, 2024
Bauhaus University Weimar
Main building, Geschwister-Scholl-Str. 8, 1st floor

Since 2021, the DFG has been funding the Priority Program 2255 “Cultural Heritage Construction – Fundamentals of an Engineering-based and Networked Heritage Conservation for the Architectural Heritage of High Modernism”. A team at the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg headed by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Werner Lorenz is responsible for coordinating the program.

In the context of several workshops of the SPP 2255 at the Bauhaus University, an exhibition presents the diverse fields of work of the sub-projects from the first funding phase (2021 – 23) of the priority program, which are distributed throughout Germany. Some historical components and material samples provide “tangible” insights into the subject matter.

After stops in Braunschweig and Cottbus, the exhibition is now being presented by the International Heritage Center. This testifies not least to the important role of the Bauhaus University for the SPP, in whose first funding phase two sub-projects were based in Weimar and with the project “Construction-inherent monumental values” a third has now started the second funding phase (2024 – 26).

We look forward to your visit!
