Sports hall KT60L Free Waldorf School Magdeburg e.V.

In the research priority program SPP 2255 „Cultural Heritage Construction“ of the DFG, scientists of the TU BA Freiberg and TU Braunschweig deal with the constructions of the VEB Metalleichtbau-kombinat (MLK). A typical construction of the MLK is the sports hall KT60L.
The sports hall of the Freie Waldorfschule Magdeburg e.V. was built in the mid-1970s and renovated in 2007 and 2010/11. Due to its innovative approach to preservation, it represents a model for the general and also monument-preserving handling of type buildings of the GDR.

As part of the Open Monument Day, this potential monument will be opened and presented to the public. The next Open Monument Day will be held on Sunday (September 10, 2023). There will be additional guided tours at 11 am, 12 pm and 2 pm.
